ABSTRACT

Chlordecone is a very stable molecule characterized by high hydrophobicity, high afnity for organic matter, and low solubility in water (Dawson et al. 1979, Kenaga 1980, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 2012). These properties drive its environmental fate and partly explain its persistence in soils, which in turn can pollute crops, thus raising public health concerns (Multigner et al. 2016).
