ABSTRACT

This chapter emphasizes OTFT-based combinational and sequential circuit designs using single gate (SG) and dual gate (DG) architecture in diode load logic (DLL) and zero-Vgs load logic (ZVLL) configurations. A conventional block diagram of combinational as given in Figure 8.1a comprises inputs and outputs without any direct interactions. A sequential circuit consists of a combinational circuit with memory element in the feedback loop, as shown in Figure 8.1b. Different benchmark sequential circuits conventionally called latches (flipflops) have become core elements of integrated circuits built using inorganic semiconducting materials. The progress with inorganic devices is based on the fact that the responses of these sequential circuits are proven, robust, reliable, and stable in contrast with organic semiconductor (OSCs). Most recent research efforts using OSCs are still in the hunt for innovative material, process technologies, and circuit design techniques to develop stable, robust, and proven organic sequential circuits [6-10].
