ABSTRACT

One of the primary reasons is that when a particular biometric technology is being utilized to confirm the identity of an individual, it is a piece of our physiological/biological selves or even psychological mannerisms that is being captured. It should be noted that some of the biometric modalities that are being used have more impact upon society than other specific modalities. Asia and Africa where the economic regions are considered to be much lower as opposed to the United States or Europe, in general, the acceptance rate of biometric technology tends to be much higher. Moreover, by making use of biometric technology in an e-voting infrastructure, the citizens of the countries in the sub-Saharan region can now be assured with a much higher degree of confidence that their votes will actually be processed and tabulated into the final results.
