ABSTRACT

This chapter is devoted entirely to the innovation process. The theme of this chapter is that the core principles of organizational management do not change. What does change is the manner in which those core principles are applied to real-life situations. We often hear the expression, “let’s not reinvent the wheel” used in the context of redoing something that someone has already done successfully. From this perspective, it seems like a waste of time and resources to do something that others have already done. However, in this book, we are going to look at “reinventing the wheel” in a different way. In particular, we are going to take the ideas that others before us have created, and we will then determine how we can best apply these to the challenges that we now face.
