ABSTRACT
Cyber incorporating cybersecurity, cyberterrorism, and cyber attacks reflects the cutting edge of technology. From the perspective of decision makers, the transition is dramatic; from the perspective of the public, cyber attacks are a source of enormous concern and discomfort. Cybersecurity is the effort to protect information, communications, and technology from harm caused either accidentally or intentionally; important to emphasize is that a cyber attack is profoundly distinct from a physical attack. Further, cybersecurity is the effort to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, resources, and processes through the use of administrative, physical, and technical controls. A cyber attack is a deliberate and direct aggressive action intended to harm critical infrastructure. Cybersecurity is intended to protect society and individuals from very sophisticated and aggressive attacks; the important question is determining the prioritization of what we seek to protect.
