ABSTRACT

Several sources describe so-called project life cycles to select from. Th e use of the word in this context can be misunderstood. It is not used to describe phases that the project will inevitably go through, but is used instead to explain approaches to managing a project. In Chapter 3, I described project types, which means a typifi cation to help understand what specifi c projects are. In this chapter, several topics may seem to be repeated, especially the tension fi eld between predictable and Agile projects. Th ere is nevertheless a fundamental diff erence, because in this chapter, the question is not what the project is, but how you approach and manage it.
