ABSTRACT
With globalization and population boom, paper industry has quickly developed. About 400 million tons of paper-related products were consumed in 2010 and the global production of paper is expected to increase to 500 million tons by 2020. It has been found that 25%–40% of municipal solid waste generated each year worldwide is paper-related (Nourbakhsh and Ashori 2010). The huge mass of waste causes forest destruction, difculty for disposal as well as environmental pollution. Therefore, it is important to recycle or convert this enormous waste into useful products.
