ABSTRACT

Our entire body is home to hundreds of trillions of diverse population of microorganisms, known as microbiome, mostly impacting us positively and contributing toward keeping us healthy. However, many recent scientic studies have demonstrated a link between dysbiosis (imbalance in microbiota) and a variety of metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cancer, and pulmonary diseases (Sekirov et al., 2010; The Human Microbiome Project Consortium, 2012; Bultman, 2014).
