ABSTRACT

Recently, Nestlé Health Science, a subsidiary of Nestlé, bought another U.S. medical food company, Pamlab, which produces prescription medical foods that support patients with various conditions, such as dementia, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, high-risk pregnancies, and depression. Nestlé’s strong commitment in this domain is justied by a series of other acquisitions which include Accera, a rm that produces medical foods for the dietary management of Alzheimer’s patients; Vitao, which provides nutritional solutions for those affected by genetic disorders inuencing how the body processes foods; and Prometheus Laboratories, a rm specializing in diagnostics and pharmaceuticals in gastroenterology and oncology.
