ABSTRACT
Traditionally, optics researchershave concentrated ondesigningthe simplest feasible experiments for the purpose of isolating, or taking advantage of, one or more fundamental properties of light. For example, Young’s double-slit experiment was conceived to demonstrate and study the wave properties of light through interference. Also, engineers and scientists have put in centuries of eort to construct optical elements that focus light with a minimum of aberrations.
