The answer to the question “How do you sell the GIS to local government?” may be simple, but it took me 20 years to figure out. What I am about to say may sound corny to some of you, but here it goes: I believe that GIS is not a gadget but something that will ultimately transform the way that people think about the world. That is why I am so comfortable selling GIS to local government organizations.
