Chapters 3 and 4 discussed two-level factorial designs. These designs are extremely efficient and not only allow one to determine the effects of several factors, but also to determine if interactions exist between those factors. However if the number of factors, k, being examined is large, the number of experimental runs, nF = 2
k, may be excessive, as shown in Table 7.1.
