ABSTRACT

The laser tracker is the most widely used measurement instrument in large-scale products’ assembly measurement. It has high accuracy and wide measuring scope. However, its measuring efficiency is not high because it measures points slowly and its optical path would be blocked easily so that its measuring station transformation is complex during measurement. With the use of the 3D laser scanner in modern industry, it can quickly measure any surface prominently. However, its single instrument’s measuring effective range is relatively small. Furthermore, its measuring accuracy has some disparity compared with the laser.
