ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The process of product design in the industry has been significantly refined over the years through the capabilities of advanced computer aided design and engineering tools. Conventional techniques, based on calculations, for implementing the simulation of a gearbox are time consuming.. This paper illustrates the significant benefits in implementing the efficiency of a gear reducer, by using a correlation solid dynamics simulation methodology design available in the MSC/Patran. A case study will be provided for improving the correlation potential both in the stress and strain. The main motivation behind the work is to go for a complete FEA of the gearbox housing rather than the empirical formulae and iterative procedures. In order to describe the better process of the gearbox simulation, 3D, CAD, and ADAMS are discussed and verified to construct the elemental models for a specific gear box in the comprehensive design.
