ABSTRACT
In Chapters 5 and 6, where we dealt with the dynamics of discrete and continuous systems, respectively, we showed how to determine the natural frequencies of a linear elastic structure according to modal analysis. In addition, we remarked on the importance of keeping the vibration frequencies of an external periodic excitation as far as possible from such natural frequencies to avoid resonance phenomena.
