ABSTRACT
It was 7.35pm and Jennifer had not yet arrived. The rain was streaming down the windows and Laura could hear the gutters beginning to overflow. Not a nice night to be out, she thought, and wondered whether there had been any flooding on the roads nearby. She saw Jennifer’s car drawing up and she went out to the door so she could let her straight in.
