ABSTRACT

Good job descriptions paint an accurate picture of the job. They are clear about any difficulties (any aspects of the job that are particularly demanding or difficult to per form) and tedious or unpleasant aspects.1 The emphasis should be on purpose and accountability rather than on tasks and responsibility (a cleaner may well vacuum floors, but that is not the purpose of the post - the purpose of such a job is to keep the floors free from dirt).
