ABSTRACT

Martin had already spent some time with Anne briefly discussing two other clients before he turned to his work with Mandy. He was aware that his one-hour fortnightly supervision sessions were frequent enough to ensure that he had time to talk about his clients. He saw four clients a week at the surgery, most were weekly clients like Mandy, others fortnightly. He believed in being flexible and responsive to each client’s needs. In fact, sometime he saw clients less frequently, particularly when they had problems making daytime appointments (he only worked during the day) due to work or other commitments. He had seen the odd client monthly, simply because their style was to want extra time between sessions to reflect on and apply insights they had gained through the counselling work.
