ABSTRACT
Angelman syndrome is a severe neurodevelopmental disorder associated with intellectual disability. Other features include severe speech impairment, gait ataxia and tremulousness of the limbs, and a distinctive behaviour with an inappropriate happy affect that includes frequent laughing, smiling and excitability. Microcephaly and seizures are common.
