Measuring correlations We often notice, in medical work, that two sets of measurements seem to be 'related'. For instance, pyrexia and pulse rate are often related - the higher the fever, the higher the pulse rate. Likewise, severity of cystitis and urine flow are usually related. The more positive the degree of cystitis (however measured), the more scanty (usually) is the urine flow.
