ABSTRACT
The aqueduct of Sylvius connects the 3rd ventricle to the 4th ventricle. The 4th ventricle can be seen in this image in its distinctive diamond shape in cross section. The caudal tip of the 4th ventricle, or obex, represents the imaginary dividing line between the medulla and the spinal cord and lies at the level of the foramen magnum.
