ABSTRACT
The presence of the smaller fibula indicates this is the lateral ankle. The peroneus brevis and longus tendons run behind the lateral malleolus. Peroneus brevis is shorter, can be seen running in front of peroneus longus and inserts in the base of the 5th metatarsal.
