ABSTRACT
As with the history and the physical examination, diagnostic tests are targeted toward the endocrine gland in question. Laboratory tests can examine hormone levels in serum and/or urine, and help to assess tumor function. Imaging is used to localize a tumor and possibly determine the likelihood of malignancy, depending on tumor size, its relation ship to neighboring structures, and lymph node involvement.
