ABSTRACT
The clinical presentation of delirium is characterized by diffi culties with attention and concentration, and disorientation to time, place, and person. Additional symptoms of restlessness, delusions, hallucinations, abnormal behavior, and sleep disturbance can color the picture. Delirium is commonly seen in the elderly, in patients admitted to the intensive care unit, and during the postoperative period.
