ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION Ethical issues are important in both the practice of dentistry and the conduct of dental research studies. This chapter gives an outline of the basic concepts and illustrates some common ground with statistics. For an in-depth study of ethics, Herring (2014) explores medical ethics from a European perspective, whereas Ozar and Sokol (2002) focus on dental ethics from an American angle.
