ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we shall develop the ideas of special relativity that are of the utmost importance to particle physics. The aim will be to understand these ideas and their implications, not to produce a technical derivation of the results. We will not be following a historically correct route. Instead, we will develop our ideas by considering the results from experiments that took place after Einstein published his theory.
