ABSTRACT
The previous chapter demonstrates that the number of molecules in a fixed volume will fluctuate even when the system is at equilibrium. This fluctuation for a single molecule will be a consequence of movement in and out of the volume of interest which implies that the time course of the fluctuation may reveal information about the transport dynamics.
