ABSTRACT
The objective of this book has been to establish some of the foundational knowledge that helps us understand some of the phenomena that arise in small systems. The focus has been on this foundational knowledge since it is enduring. While we may gain further and deeper insight in to the special world of nanoscience, the principles reiterated in this text are not likely to change in the near future.
