ABSTRACT
Certifying the cause of death is closely similar in most countries around the world. The law will differ, however, on when you should not complete the death certificate but must refer the death for further investigation. This section explains the position for England and Wales at the time of publication. If you are practising in another country, make sure that you understand the local law.
