ABSTRACT
A 76-year-old man is diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction and treated with coronary angioplasty and insertion of a bare metal stent. There is a past history of a hip replacement 6 months previously. He is treated with unfractionated heparin and started on dual anti-platelet therapy.
