ABSTRACT
WITCHCRAFT PRACTICE INVOLVES BELIEF in the use of black magic to cause an involuntary eff ect on a person. For centuries, witchcraft has had pejorative connotations and for the most part has been condemned by society. Across diff erent periods, witches were accused of practicing infanticide and cannibalism and stealing penises. A witchcraft session could involve invoking Satan, who could manifest in the form of a goat. Hallucinogens from toads or other sources could be used for the rite.
