ABSTRACT
THE TERM “SUPERNATURAL” – above nature – refers to phenomena that are not subject to the laws of nature. In contrast to naturalism, a philosophical approach that embraces the scientifi c method and rejects existence beyond the laws of physics, supernaturalism entails belief in the otherworldly realm. Supernaturalism has been traditionally related to magical thinking and all forms of religion.
