ABSTRACT

This chapter presents Zebra Stripes and Curvature tools, as well as the PhotoWorks Studio, for rendering surface models. The Curvature tool can suggest which area of a surface is under more stress than the others because it is related to the inverse of the radius of curvature. The Zebra Stripes tool allows the user to see small changes in a surface that may be hard to see with a standard display. Zebra Stripes simulate the reflection of long strips of light on a very shiny surface. The Curvature tool allows the user to display a part or assembly with the surfaces rendered in different colors according to the local radius of curvature. PhotoWorks Studio allows the user to render a model in an existing scene with lights. The user selects one of the studios, and the scene and lights are automatically added. The lights and the scene automatically scale to the size of the model.
