This chapter discusses catalyst software to prepare tool paths for additive manufacturing. CatalystEX is an intuitive, user-friendly application that is designed to interface with Dimension three-dimensional printers. Some printers differ in the support material that is used: Water-soluble support technology and Breakaway support technology. Two tabs are useful in defining the general properties, defining the tool paths, and printing a model: these are general and orientation tabs. A CMB file created for one printer type is different from a CMB file that is created for another printer type. An existing CMB file cannot be added to a pack if it was processed for a printer type that is different from the Current Printer type. The original Standard Tessellation Language file will need to be opened and reprocessed for the Current Printer type.
