ABSTRACT

My daughter is at the crossroads of her career and her life. She is about to enter the first pilot F2 year and is due to get married next May. She asked me recently what I thought of general practice as a job for life, and I found the answer difficult. Why? Because there are so many answers, and now I am at the opposite end of my career to hers my perspective is obviously very different. To her I am a wise-ish Dinosaur who happens to be her Dad, and I still see myself as a Young Turk. It is the mirror and the coronary arteries that tell a different story.
