ABSTRACT
We have provided this pause between Part 2 and the remaining sections of the book to provide an example of medical readers’ theater – an activity that uses stories, specifically plays, in narrative skill training. We have chosen to adapt Leo Tolstoy’s widely read classic novella, The Death of Ivan Ilyich, as a play. We describe the use of medical readers’ theater in Chapter 6.
