ABSTRACT

Just as you do not w ander through life hoping that you will w in the jackpot on the lottery to solve your financial problems, do not wait for a publisher to approach you if you w ant to write a book. Get out there and look for one. Do not write the book and send it to a publisher you have picked out w ith a pin. Do your research, and then prepare a book proposal (see Chapter 4) and sample chapters to send to your carefully selected choice of publisher. Occasionally, a publisher will approach you. An editor or director has become aware of your writing in journals on a subject and the publishing house has a gap that they would like filled. Rejoice, and then prepare your book proposal.
