ABSTRACT

This chapter gives you some idea of w hat a publisher can do to prom ote your book, and how you can help them in that process. It includes a brief explan­ ation of the costs underlying a book's publication, and how the m oney from a typical sale is split. This should give you a better idea of the level of resources it is reasonable to expect a publisher to devote to prom oting your book, so that you can agree w ith them w hat is the best mix of activities for your particular title.
