What is a drug interaction?
A drug interaction occurs when the action of one drug is altered by the concurrent or prior administration of another drug.
It is estimated that one in six drug charts contains a significant drug interactions. This is becoming increasingly significant as many patients are on multiple drugs, some of which can interfere with anaesthetic agents.
