ABSTRACT

Our spirituality manifests the best of ourselves. It expresses the values and meanings without which we will founder. It involves the acquisition, expression, and honoring of those qualities, values, and behaviors that define the kind of person you want to be. It is, for most of us, the essence of our bond to other individuals, to family, to larger communities of friendship and service, and to a transcendent being or set of values. This chapter explores spirituality in greater depth through interviews and participants' spiritual models. It examines the linkages among the facets of our personhood.
