ABSTRACT

Emotions are systemic states that encompass our thinking and feeling as well as have direct effects on our physiology and behaviours. It is impossible to go through a process of change without encountering potentially strong emotions along the way. Although emotions can be both positive (joy, gratitude, pleasure etc.) and negative (fear, anger, sadness etc.), it is usually the negative ones that seem to create most problems. People vary in their capacity to cope with emotions and attempt to deal with them in different ways.
