ABSTRACT
There are few situations in the life of a medical student or doctor which are more difficult or painful than those which arise when deliberate injury or preventable misery of a child is presented within a health context. The physician should be aware that his or her contact with a child or family may prove to be the watershed event that helps to change the future for both.
