ABSTRACT

The most signifi cant change in the contraception fi eld over the past decade has been the increasing availability of LARC to all age groups and particularly young people. Inserting the contraceptive implant and intrauterine devices have become wider practiced skills, and the myth that women who have not had children cannot have an IUD inserted is being dispelled. In fact, the IUD is increasingly being fi tted as a form of emergency contraception.
