ABSTRACT
For the purpose of this chapter we will be focusing on the more antisocial and even criminal aspect of gangs. Our main aim is to understand the origin and nature of gang culture, to identify young people who may be at risk of becoming involved in gangs or are already involved, and to employ strategies to help young people avoid becoming involved or more deeply involved in gangs.
