Take care with your choices about partnership. Spend time thinking, discussing and exploring. There is no rush, and there is plenty of locum work for vocationally trained general practitioners. Consider the non-partnership options that are open to you, particularly the newer salaried options. But, above all, try not to let all this get in the way of the central joy of general practice which is the consultation, and the human interactions which it contains.54
