The advantages of working in groups In a world of increasing complexity it is common practice to use groups to generate ideas, make decisions and solve problems. The theoretical advantages to using groups are typically identified as:
• several people make more ‘man hours’ available • information and skills can be pooled • more ideas are likely to be generated • a greater variety of ideas is generated • errors are more likely to be spotted • increased involvement equals increased commitment.
