ABSTRACT
It now almost a century since Alzheimer's first description of the clinical and pathological features of the disease that now bears his name. Alzheimer's disease was originally thought to be a rare cause of presenile dementia, but is now widely regarded as the most common cause of dementia, responsible for at least 50% of all cases.
