ABSTRACT
The scenarios in this chapter prepare health professionals and students for the more formal interactions that occur during training and continuing professional development. In the same way that consultations between doctor and patient may be rehearsed and practised, so might appraisal interviewing, student support and the mentoring process, all of which are as important to the participants as the consultation is to doctor and patient.
