ABSTRACT
The physical distance between the callers and the victims during the 911 calls can provide insight to their relationship. Most callers use cellphones or portable phones and are not restricted in their movement. Therefore, they can remain in close Proximity to victims while talking with dispatchers. Many offenders in the 911 study, however, moved away from the victims and called 911 when they were out of sight of the bodies.
