ABSTRACT
One of the worst of all sins in tweeting are the swear word tweeters. Then finally, worst of all, are the ‘abuse others’ tweeters, who are absolutely immediately unfollowed. So there are hazards of Twitter, but the simple guidelines will allow one to decide how to fashion one's own tweeting to his or her personal taste. It is the new era of developing the social media skills. Google Scholar is incredibly useful. Research Gate is also a useful check of citations to one's publications. The University of Manchester is one of the very first to provide a data repository for its research staff. Social media options, and other similar web tools, are a fast-developing area but with incredible potential for a scientific life, as an educator and a researcher.
